The 2014 model year 144cc engine was a massive step forward in performance over the older generation 144cc powerplant, the latest generation 144cc engine is latest to follow up on the hugely successful 125cc TMEES engine and now the 144cc engine too has the same electronic powervalve system that has proven to be a great step in 2-Stroke performance. This latest generation 144cc TMEES engine which featured updates in 2014 including, new crankcases, new cylinder, new cylinder head, new reed position, a revised piston assembly, new main bearings supporting a new, billet machined crankshaft, a new intake system with a new filter cage, a new intake boot and carb manifold, a new exhaust system with a HGS silencer and all complimented with new Cdi mapping and carburetion settings, has only received minor engine updates to the already well proven 2014 engine configuration for the new 2015 model. These changes for 2015 include a new TMEES pulley and cable system for greater durability and performance and some alterations to fuelling.
Chassis changes include modified geometry featuring a new rear shock length (8mm) matched to a new linkage for better progression and traction in all conditions with revised suspension settings, a new rear wheel spindle diameter with an increase of 2.5mm for added strength and less deflection of the swing-arm and a new plastics design in a fresh and aggressive style. This new plastic arrangement, also featuring a new seat and fuel tank incorporates a 'fresh air flow system' which channels cool air via a control channel to the airbox to maximise cold air feed for higher power output. This new look is finished with a fresh new graphic look in an Italian theme.
Other features include, a TM Racing 'Factory' rear shock absorber, KYB 48mm forks, billet machined aluminium hubs laced to anodised Excel rims, Billet machined aluminium triple clamps with damped handlebar mountings, oversize taper handlebar, oversize 'wave' braking discs, HGS exhaust system, V-Force reed valve system, billet machined connecting rod and a switchable twin map ignition system
